-
This is your home, you need to be comfortable and trust the
contractor to deliver you Peace of Mind.
-
Your Contractor should employ experienced staff holding
certification in the installation of EIFS / Stucco from a
nationally accredited organization like AWCI or Moisture Free
Warranty. Your job should not be their first.
-
Examples of quality repair work and References should be
provided upon request.
-
Meeting and schedule times should be at your convenience.
-
Your contractor should be able to provide insurance
documentation specifically showing they have coverage to install
or repair your EIFS or Stucco. The insurance industry enacted a
broad exclusion to EIFS and Stucco work. Only contractors who
have a proven track record with proper installation are given an
exception to this exclusion. Without the exception there is
no coverage afforded to any legal responsibility.
-
Your contractor should be licensed in the state it is providing
services.
-
Written Contracts are a must. Reputable contractors will
encourage the use of a written contract. This contract should
clearly explain the scope of the work to be performed, a time
schedule for the project, and payment procedures. Knowing the
total scope of the work enables you to carefully evaluate the
different bids you may receive with the proper information and
keep them on a level playing field. The contract serves to
protect both you and the contractor.
-
Price should not be your only deciding factor when choosing a
Contractor to work at your home. Remember, as with anything
else in life, you get what you pay for.
